Pickleball on parade! (Pickleball ARTwear) How music and art truly met pickleball in a parade yesterday.....

I was playing pickleball as a guest at another club last winter and while there I showed my "pickleball kitchen party songs" book to a few people who then asked that I let them know whenever I will be singing locally, so I did (see it here), and it was all so much fun that moving forward, I've always made sure to tell them whenever I have a local gig because not only do they bring their great smiles and fresh energy but sometimes they bring their friends along and they always ask for pickleball songs (so of course I'm happy to). I also make time to tell them about my pickleball art and one day my new friend Sandra of Richmond BC pickleball association proved she was paying attention because she contacted me to let me know she and her group had ordered 20 of my Pickleball Canada Maple Leaf shirt designs (art files for which I had given to Tsawwassen Locals so that local residents can get my art on clothing without ordering from either the US or Montreal).

She went on to say that they would be used for the big Steveston Canada Day parade and I was WOW! I texted her back and suggested she get them all to sing some pickleball parodies while walking and she invited or shall I say challenged me..... to come along and lead them.

So I did......

.....and we met and planned and plotted and added a few little togs and toggles to the parade ideas like a little portable net with wheels and strings for the pickleballs so we didn't lose too many of them. I wrote the lyrics on the back of the banner but if your club is ever going to put pickleball on parade in future I highly recommend you simply tape the lyrics to one side of your paddle like a few smart cookies did!

I have to say pickleball was very popular on the parade route, I heard people calling out the word pickleball like we were rock stars.

Enjoy the fun and let me know if you add music and art to YOUR pickleball events! Rachael!
