playing my Pickleball Playlist, live, while getting my gig on

I've been playing Musical Marpole / Marpole Summer fest for well over a decade and while it's completely different than playing at a place like the River Rock Casino or The Hilton Downtown Vancouver , it's an entirely interesting experience, always.
It's a busy street, shoppers whiz by constantly, some on a mission and others doing a little dance as they pass. Senior citizens stop along their stroll to remember old times and people swing in and out of the library all day, often taking a few moments to enjoy a tune or two. Mothers and fathers stop their children to dance and listen, they give the kids coins to put in my jar and some little ones don't want to give up their prize so easily. It's adorable and I always feel for them.
Even young kids out on their bikes are in on it, I have witnessed more than one group swerve around to come and drop some coins in my jar. KIDS, on their own, giving me their candy money!! I want to yell at them...... hey I don't need your money ..... but my mouth is full of song and they ride off too quickly.....
I've watched this area grow and evolve for literally decades and there just seems to be a culture of appreciation has evolved as more people have moved in and added a new vitality.
And so as I've done for maybe 15 years now, I revealed back to the neighborhood I grew up in, some of my own evolution last Saturday as I played my Pickleball Playlist out loud, (I figured I'd take the chance to get some of the songs on video tape as seen above). :)

I hope you enjoy the rough live snippets of my Pickleball Playlist. I've been sneaking the songs into my gig/sets lately and they land in a neat way because I often see people's heads turn when they hear the word Pickleball dropped in to a song......... it seems as if they are saying to themselves, did I just hear that? They look at me. I smile. They get it and they smile back, because we are Pickleball People, and we know. Take care, Rach.
